Ruf CTR3 2011: extreme evolution from 750 hp and 386 km / h

Creator of unique vehicles in limited series, based on the Porsche, the Pfaffenhausen brand, always close to the production of Zuffenhausen, in these days has revealed the updated version of its flagship model, the CTR3 presented in 2007. Ruf CTR3 2011, evolution of the model that debuted in four years ago, is, therefore, even more powerful.

In fact, regarding the performance monster that is able to offer very little that they can rake in one. Although the starting point is the Porsche Cayman, in fact, the Ruf CTR3 "makeover" retained, as in the previous edition, the 6-cylinder "flat" source of 3.8 liters 911 (GT3 and Turbo S), with two supercharged turbochargers and placed in a central position.


Regarding performance, we are in line with the philosophy Ruf: monstrous, the CTR3 "new edition" offers the beauty of 750 hp and 960 Nm of torque. That is to say, nearly two and a half times the 330 hp of the Cayman, but also 7% more power than the previous 700 hp CTR3. The performances are extreme.

The top speed is 386 km/h and sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.2 seconds. But is the change from 0 to 200 that is impressive: 9.6 seconds. Given the two predecessors, it was logical to expect a large number of updates. For the car body, Ruf, true to itself, has chosen the external forms of added vitamins with an aerodynamic kit made of carbon fiber and Kevlar that enhances the development of the Cayman winding and at the same time, gives a picture of overtly personal and inspired by the racing car.

Worth noting is the use of galvanized steel for the construction of the frame and front passenger compartment of the cell, and the fixing of the powertrain, engine and gearbox in a tubular structure that forms a single element with the roll cage (solution taken from motorsport). Doors and bonnet are made of aluminum, while the rest of the car body is made of kevlar and carbon fiber made from the same Ruf.

For the wheels, are used pentarazze rims 19 "front and 20" rear, fitted with tires, respectively, 255/35 ZR 19 and 335/30 ZR 20. For the interior, which keeps its promises "racing" from outside the car, RUF offers the possibility of fitting on request, made as a basis, the presentation of two characters: a very sporty and - relatively - Spartan (controls and instrumentation essential , dashboard lighter); a more polished, which gives a nod to the GT Road (fine leathers and Alcantara trim).
