After climbing the ranking of preferences for a good chunk of the audience has appreciated since its debut on the market, Dacia Duster is preparing to scale new heights, this time much more real and not very demanding. To be precise, these are the peaks of Pikeas Peak in Colorado Springs in the USA. It is going to Renault, which controls the Romanian brand, made to face the legendary climb of 20 km running uphill with a departure from an altitude of 2,900 meters to 4,300 meters and destination for a twisty, charming, full of pitfalls, and turns sections with gradients of up to 10%.
A test of strength that the French manufacturer intends to deal with a Duster prepared expressly for this company. The work of the technicians will focus primarily on a reduction of the car body in order to optimize the speed performance, which will in turn enhanced by the use of twin-turbo V6 engine capable of delivering 3.8-liter 850 horsepower, the same engine already seen on the sporty Nissan GT-R R35, and proceeding at the same time a reinforcement of different components in order to withstand the enormous stresses they undergo during the "Race of Angels" definition which is also known among fans of the climb Pikes Peak.
The decision to entrust the Duster attempt such an undertaking after his second place and won the Thophée Ambros, Renault is evidence of how strongly they believe the potential of this model, that on 26 June, will start when the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, will be called write a new page in the history of Romanian home.
