Mitsubishi i-MiEV: with 12 units sold to electric pi

The Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric car is the most sold in Italy. An achievement which demonstrates the success of the project in partnership between Mitsubishi and PSA. But the conditional is a must, because in hindsight it turns out that the Japanese company to achieve leadership in the segment had to register well ...

12 specimens. No joke, the i-MiEV sold in this country four months after the start of marketing are exactly given. A little 'more comforting European data, where the electric cars made in Japan has 1300 registered. The reported data are from the same Mitsubishi reflect on what really drive the market is open to environmentally friendly solutions such as electric.

The main problems are probably the high purchase price (or lease payments) and the lack of recharging infrastructure. Nodes that must be dissolved if the manufacturers and the governments intend to continue on the electric road. The electric city car was launched in June 2009 and is currently distributed in Italy, according to some formulas that provide for the leasing or long term rental.

In the first case, for example, the i-MiEV is available for private customers or companies with a formula that includes an initial payment of 13% of list price, then followed by monthly payments of 452 € plus VAT. Another chance to get hold of the little Mitsubishi is the long-term lease which provides for different offers.

One of these, offered by Arval provides such an advance of 5,000 € and a monthly fee of 560 € plus VAT, for a total distance of 50,000 km including the RCA insurance policy and coverage for theft, fire and damage to the car, in addition to routine maintenance and repairs, including changing tires and roadside assistance with towing.

The diffusion of the i-MiEV has also launched a parallel growth of retailers equipped to support this type of car exhaust emissions-free, characterized by reduced operating costs than conventional models. The compact Japanese is in fact characterized by an electric motor of 70 hp and 180 Nm of torque available from zero, while the electricity is stored in a rechargeable lithium battery 80% of its potential in half an hour, while a required 6 hours to fully charge.

The autonomy of 150 km was declared a speed of 130 km / h.
