Citroen 2 CV: World record-breaking rally

The Citroen 2 CV is certainly one of those little cars, like the Morris Minor, the Fiat 500 and Volkswagen Beetle, which can boast of having written an important page in history. So it's no wonder that the 19th World Meeting of 2CV Friends of fixed July 26 to 31 in the Loir-et-Cher, in France, attended by over 5300 Citroen 2CV, a number so large as to make this event, the festival dedicated to the legendary "deux chevaux" largest ever built.


Founded in 1948 and produced until 1990, the Citroen 2 CV had the unenviable task of contributing to the engine of the post-war France. The ingredients of this success is due to the quality of the project, for versatility still unknown at that time and a particular economic concept that allowed her to deliver "four passengers and a sack of potatoes at 60 km / h with a consumption of three liters per hundred kilometers.

To honor and celebrate this historic car has decided to hold a gathering every two years the Friends of the World 2 HP, where they hosted many foreign participants and several international club 2 hp.

The French manufacturer will set up for the occasion a "museum 2 hp", where they will be exposed to the 4 precious pre-war prototype of the car, along with some historical documents of the House of the "Double Chevron". Citroen will be exposed in the stand instead of the fascinating concept cars REVOLT, luxurious reinterpretation of the 2CV and technology, while at a space will perform an exciting show, the sporty DS3 WRC competition car involved in the World Rally Championship.
