Denmark opens the first charging station Quickdrop

It 'been opened in these days in Denmark the first European service station for replacement of the batteries of electric cars with the system Quickdrop, waiting for take-off of such vehicles on a large scale. For creating it is the Better Place, California-based company that in partnership the company Dong Energy is preparing to do the same in 19 other places in the Scandinavian country.

In all these points will be automated as in a drive-in, or in a car wash, as the driver - after the fact authenticate using a magnetic card - will just have to stay on board and assist in an operation in which a robotic arm robot disassemble the battery and replace it with a new one. Science fiction? Maybe now it appears to most people.

But it is expected that within a few years everything becomes a routine for those who have a car with zero emissions. Meanwhile, Better Place is preparing to sell electric cars in Israel, a country where traditional fuels to drive vehicles are very expensive. According to the calculations - and because of the cost of packages which include battery and charger - owning a car of this type will be 20% less expensive than a traditional model.
