It is not right for everyone, but almost. The DDR Motorsport workshop was conceived in 2001 in Miami with the goal of creating a sports GT from exotic taste, but affordable. This close-knit team of specialists has taken advantage of their passion for sports cars, mixed with specific industry knowledge to make the GT Miami, following the motto of Ferdinand Porsche, who was fond of repeating: "I could not find the sports car of my dreams, so I built myself.
" Aesthetically, the Miami GT repeats some of the stylistic solutions typical of sport prototypes used in endurance races, but also some extreme sports such as the legendary McLaren F1 90s. The body of the American sports car - made of fiberglass - comes with an extremely short and tapered snout above a cabin built in the forward position designed to accommodate two people.
The long tail houses the central power unit installed in a special frame made of steel and Kevlar, while the doors, of sure effect scenic, open up. The rigidity of the vehicle body is ensured by a robust tubular frame reinforced with steel panels, while the windshield, rear window and side windows were made of special glass Lexan.
For the rest of the Miami GT is fully customizable by the customer from the type of alloy wheels combined with street tires or racing, or the buoyancy chosen sport, developed according to the needs of the customer, who can opt for a wide range of suspensions. Similarly the interior can be customized with a variety of accessories ranging from high-containment sports seats, custom made and fitted with seat belts to four or six points, or by choosing the type of steering wheel or the gear lever, always made according to customer requirements.
As for the choice of engines, the DDR Motorsport lets you choose between three different units, taken from many of the recent past including GT: Toyota MR-2 (1989-1996), Chevrolet Corvette (1997-2002) and Acura RSX (2002-2006), with power ranging between 200 and 500 hp. Despite the high level of customization and use of quality materials, the men of the Motor DDR ensure that the final price of the car will not exceed $ 50,000, a price really interesting when you consider the content and especially if you do not mind too little originality to the aesthetics of the car.
