Audi A8 Hybrid

The first four-cylinder engine fitted to the A8 range available in the Hybrid version, directed evolution of A8 Hybrid Concept on display at the Geneva Motor Show 2010. The flagship Audi uses the two-liter TFSI gasoline versions from 211 hp and 350 Nm, coupled in parallel to an electric motor for a total of 245 hp and 480 Nm electric unit delivers 40 kW and 210 Nm and is inserted in the automatic transmission ZF eight-speed, while its operation is governed by a multi-disc clutch in oil bath.


This hybrid system is already used by Q5 and A6 and also uses lithium-ion battery, weighing 36.7 pounds and with a capacity of 1.3 kWh. The Audi A8 Hybrid in electric mode can travel for 3 km to 60 km / h or at a maximum speed of 100 km / h. The idea 0-100 km / h is covered in 7.7 seconds, top speed is 235 km / h and average consumption amounts to 6.4 l/100 km (148 g / km CO2).

The driver can choose between driving modes "EV" zero emissions, "D" for the combined use of motors and "S" for more dynamism. The Hybrid construction is characterized by the exclusive Arctic Silver paint, alloy wheels for 18-inch turbine (optional to 19), applied to the body for logos and the new instrument panel with the appropriate charge indicator.

The Audi A8 Hybrid will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show (15-25 September) for sale in 2012.
