Land Rover: the new models will lose up to 500 kg

The new generation Land Rover may have a weight up to 500 kg less: the Indian-owned British manufacturer is in fact struggling with the need to reduce fuel consumption and emissions of its models. A process that can not be separated from the reduction of the masses involved. In addition to more economical diesel engines and hybrid intelligent systems, Land Rover was planning to replace the steel used for the bodies with the finest materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber: this will maintain the size of vehicles current range, while providing far superior road performance than today, combined with greater operating economy and a lower environmental impact.

A first taste of the new technology over which the manufacturer would take the intentions of we will look at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, where the house will present the concept of the new Defender. Land Rover has already announced that the next generation of the historic terrain English will be designed to be marketed in the USA.
