Keeping in line with the new Ford Focus

The Ford Focus enters MuCell technology. This is a special process in the production of plastic components that saves and makes the products more than 20% lighter. In the production phase are mixed bubbles of nitrogen gas with plastic parts. Once ready this will be the mold of the same thickness and the same strength but less heavy.

Thanks to the engineers found the new Focus Focus of Michigan therefore benefit from this proven technology for the first time a few years ago at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The top Ford are planning to bring - in 2020 - technology MuCell also on other cars in the range. This would save a lot of plastic parts since the cars would be relieved from 100 to 300 kg.

The new Ford Focus will come on the market later this year.
