Ford Mustang in 2014 may take the place of Capri

For years, Ford assumed the return of the price lists of Capri, a sporty coupe derived from the focus with which to return to compete in the market against rivals like the Volkswagen Coupe Scirocco, Hyundai Genesis and even the future Toyota FT-86. According to Ex Autoblog, however, this project could be completely revolutionized by a marketing choice perfectly consistent with the brand strategy: leverage the new Mustang, due in 2014, as a global model from the sport affordable.

Ford has chosen to create only global models (the exact opposite of Hyundai, for example) by offering new models like the Focus and C-Max in all markets, with minor differences related to engines and fittings. In this sense, therefore, fit the idea of proposing a brush all over the world the new Mustang, which in 2014 will be revolutionized: independent rear suspension, mass and small size, EcoBoost engines 4, 6 and 8 cylinders, without prejudice to the front longitudinal engine and rear wheel drive.

With this choice, a model from Ford may offer competitively priced at just over 30,000 Euro with 4-cylinder turbo-charged versions of attack, then extending the range with far more powerful versions with V8 engines and prices more than doubled, challenging competitors such as BMW M3 even European markets.

This does not exclude, however, the development of sporty versions of the Focus ST and RS under construction, however, confined in the hatchback segment.
