Saab 9-3 model range brings Griffin

Saab has announced the Saab 9-3 Griffin presented to the public. The Griffin-series will replace the current specifications of the sports sedans, sport-combi, the Cabriolet and the 9-3X. Optical differentiators include the new front bumper, which is for the brand distinctive headlight design in the ice block and the Griffin logo on the front bumpers.

Will fall to the newly designed instrument panel, the refreshed interior design, and new seat cushions in the eye. All models are available in standard and Aero models. For the drive, two new 2.0-liter gasoline engines 163 and 220 hp (120 kW or 162) are available. Both have direct injection, variable valve timing and twin-scroll turbocharger.

Additionaly the current 1.9 TTiD turbo diesel engines with 130/160/180 HP (96/118/132 kW). There are also E85-compatible Saab Bio-power versions of both gasoline engines. For the entire drive train program six-speed transmissions are standard. Striking at the newly designed front bumper is the deep trapezoidal air intake with running black cross bars.

Fog lights are standard equipment included as well as the Griffin logo, which was derived from the Saab emblem and see on the sides of the front bumper is. At the rear of the Saab logo replaces the familiar emblem on the chrome trim. All design lines of the sports sedan also have a spoiler on the trunk lid.

From work the 9-3 Griffin rolls on 16-inch alloy wheels, in the Aero XWD versions and is 17 inches. As an option, 17 - and offered 18-inch wheels with new design. The interior, the instrument panel, shift gate, door and glove box for the first time provided with decorative elements in titanium look.

At the Aero versions here, a graphite fiber optics is used. As an optional extra for all the design lines brushed metal look is your choice. The standard black or beige leather seat covers have shark-gray fabric inserts. At the Aero variants, the irregularly ribbed leather is trimmed with different color stitching.

In both versions (Standard and Aero) located on the outside of the front seats, a handy storage pocket for small items. Also it is equipped with the Griffin logo. At the special sitting of the convertible is here only the Griffin logo. In the 9-3 Sport Combi TTiD the diesel engines are available with 130/160/180 HP (96/118/132 kW) and the two new petrol engines with a rated output of 163 hp / 120 kW / 320 Nm and 220 PS / 162 kW / 350 Nm are available.
